Are you and your fiance huge animal lovers that have gone vegan, donate to animal charities, or own way too many pets to handle? I’m not judging! Hubby and I have four cats of our own, and we definitely need more people like you on the planet! Animals are our special friends who need our help to remain happy, healthy, and protected from thoughtless people who would so casually do them harm.
Celebrate your love of animals by integrating them onto your wedding! There are so many fun and quirky ways that you can follow this decoration idea. We’ve compiled some of our favorite ideas here to give you an insight into how to show the world how much you adore our fuzzy friends.
Animal Drawing Invitations
You love your pets so why not have them included on your invitations. There are plenty of stationery designers that can create beautiful portraits of you and your four legged (or two legged) friends to include on your invites. Slip them into colorful envelops and have your designer create a coordinating liner with small and cute animal drawings. In this way, you are starting your wedding off right by letting everyone know that your love of furry critters will be in full swing.
Animal-Fact Napkins(and more)
Napkins and other forms of stationery are crucial for any wedding and wedding reception. Work with your designer to get some fun animal-facts integrated in napkins or signage for the big-day. For example, you could print a picture of the animal and a list of 5-10 fun facts about them that your guests may not know. What we love about this idea is that it helps educate your guests while they have fun. We’ve found that this stationery idea is particularly popular with couples who have children or who anticipate a lot of children at the wedding. If there’s any age group of people who love animals, it’s definitely the little ones in our lives.
Animal Centerpieces
Instead of having table numbers at the reception, why not have your guests sit at tables marked by your favorite zoo animal? Who wouldn’t want to sit at the zebra table or the lion table?! This is a great way to include the animal theme into your big day but still stay subtle and classy.
Donation Boxes For Animal Charities
On each table at your reception, you can place small donation boxes for animal charities. You can also place one of these boxes near the gift table. Many people will throw in a few bucks here and there to help out animals. Even better, some may give money to these charities as a gift to the wedding couple. Take all the money from these donation boxes and send them to your favorite charities. Make sure to include a pad of paper where those donating can write their name. Now, when you’re sending your money, you can send it in the name of those who donated!
Live Animal Displays
If you have a petting zoo near you, contact them and ask about bringing some of their furriest and friendliest animals to your reception! Set them up in a fun place where both adults and children will go during the party. In this way, you can not only show off your love of animals but allow your guests to explore their own excitement in a fun way. You can also get your furry ones to escort you down the aisle or serve as ring bearer or flower pup. And of course, include them in your wedding pictures to have a cherished memory to last a lifetime.
These simple decoration ideas are very easy for just about anybody to integrate in a wedding. Make sure to take the time to talk about them with your fiance before investing in them. In this way, you can choose the ideas which are right for your particular wedding needs.
