Traditional weddings are amazing, but not for everyone. If you’re looking to take a less traditional route or just want your wedding to stand out, here are a few unique wedding venue ideas that will set your wedding apart.
Botanical Garden

If you’re wanting to be surrounded by flowers, trees, greenery and stunning scapes of all kinds than a botanical garden is the perfect place. While weather is always something to keep in mind, spring and fall are especially good seasons for this unique venue. You will also save quite a bit on flowers and other decorations being that you’re surrounded by thousands of them!
Tree Farm

Whether it be an apple orchard or Christmas tree farm, being surrounded by the most beautiful trees is something straight out of a fairytale. Most of these places also have rustic barns or other venue-type places that are perfect for bridal showers and receptions. Not to mention tree farms typically sport some envy-worthy backdrops of mountains, hills and valleys in more wild locations.
Castle

This is probably a little more outside of the budget for most people, but if you are looking for something to really take your wedding to the next level, there are castles both here and overseas that contain the most stunning gardens, reception halls and ballrooms that are sure to make all your wedding dreams come true. If you aren’t wanting to go all out on this with your budget, there are also castle ruins that make for a stunning and extremely unique venue as well.
Museum

No matter where you live, most people have access to a nice museum of some kind. Whether it be art or history, hosting your wedding in a museum is not only incredibly unique but will also be incredibly entertaining for the guests as well. Almost every museum has event space and they are usually pretty affordable. If you speak to the staff beforehand you might also be able to have a few exhibits on display for guests during cocktail hour, and if not most museums are located in prime downtown areas with amazing views.
National Park

This is definitely more for all the bohemian adventurous types out there, but there is nothing more beautiful than the mountains and canyons in a national park. If you have a smaller wedding party and aren’t afraid of a little driving (and a possible hike) your wedding album and guests will be thanking you for it.
Rooftop

This non-traditional wedding venue idea is becoming increasingly more available as rooftop bars and venues are starting to trend. With beautiful string lights and stunning views, this is the perfect place for a sunset wedding leading into a starlit dinner. Most rooftops are a little smaller, so finding the right place is key to this venue. If you already have a smaller wedding and are looking to dance into the night under the stars this is perfect for you!
